Right-sized, not maxed-out
We don't propose 4-ton condensers when 2-ton is correct. Comfort comes from sizing, not from BTU.
Founded in 2014. Six people on payroll, never sub-contractors. We picked the size we work best at and stayed there. Mostly heat-pump retrofits, mostly Toronto, mostly word-of-mouth.

Daniel founded Equinox after twelve years bouncing between residential and commercial HVAC firms across the GTA. The pattern he kept seeing: rushed visits, oversized equipment, sub-contracted installs that nobody owned.
We picked a single zip code's worth of work, hired only people who could explain why before they explained how, and grew slowly. Twelve years later we have four trucks, six people, and a waiting list every fall.
We're not trying to grow into a chain. The size you call us at is the size you'll meet on the doorstep.

Five technicians, a dispatcher, an apprentice, and a founder still on the truck. Twelve years in. We picked the size we work best at and stayed there.

Every quote shows the heat-loss / heat-gain calc, any incentive assumptions, and the projected annual operating cost. If we won't show our work, we shouldn't be asking for your money.
Drop sheets up before tools come in. Vacuum after. Sweep the driveway. The basement should look better when we leave than when we arrived.
If we don't know what's wrong, we'll say so and bring a second tech. We don't guess on a $4,000 invoice.
Heat is non-optional. Our emergency line routes to dispatch, and the arrival window is confirmed by phone before a technician is sent.
Founder & Lead Tech
Started Equinox in 2014 after 12 years in residential and commercial HVAC across the GTA. Mostly works on heat-pump retrofits now and refuses to retire from the truck.
Lead Estimator
Started in HVAC sales, moved to Equinox to keep first-call visits technical instead of commission-driven. Handles most estimates and incentive document packages.
Service Tech
Five years on the maintenance side. Wrote the internal checklist we use on every spring/fall plan visit and catches the airflow issues other visits miss.
Install Tech
Joined in 2020 from a commercial mechanical contractor. Specializes in line-set routing in finished homes (the chases that don't ruin your kitchen).
Dispatch & Customer Care
The voice on the phone when you call at 11 PM in February. Has the dispatch board memorized and remembers your address from the last visit.
Apprentice
Started a year ago, in his second year of George Brown's HVAC program. Mostly rides with Maya on plan visits.
