Terms of service.
Last updated 2026-05-05. The legal terms governing your use of this website and the work we do for you.

Plain-language terms governing your use of this website and the work we do for you.
Scope
These terms cover (a) your use of equinox-hvac.com and (b) the service contracts you enter into with Equinox Heating & Cooling Ltd.. Specific work is also governed by the written quote and invoice we send you.
Quotes and invoices
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise noted.
- Quotes are flat-rate for installs and time-and-materials for repairs.
- Invoices are due on completion. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, e-Transfer, and cheque.
- Late invoices (>30 days) accrue 1.5%/month interest.
Warranty
Two years of labour warranty on installs. Manufacturer parts coverage runs 5 – 12 years depending on the equipment and is registered on your behalf at install time. Warranty covers defects in materials and our workmanship; it does not cover damage from misuse, modifications by other contractors, or acts of God.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Booking cancellations are free with at least 24 hours' notice. Same-day cancellations may be charged a $75 dispatch fee. We'll always reschedule for free if it's our delay.
Site access and homeowner responsibilities
- Please clear a working path to the equipment before we arrive.
- Pets should be secured during work in their area for everyone's safety.
- We'll use drop sheets and clean up after — but we're not responsible for pre-existing damage to flooring, walls, or surrounding finishes.
- If we discover unsafe conditions (asbestos, illegal modifications), we'll stop and discuss next steps with you.
Limitation of liability
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific work in question. We carry $5M general liability insurance through Northbridge — certificate available on request.

Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
