What makes our ductwork & ventilation good

Most comfort complaints aren't equipment problems — they're duct problems. We pressure-test and seal trunk lines, replace flex with rigid where it matters, balance airflow room-by-room with anemometer readings (not by ear), and rework returns when the home is starved. We can also rough in ducts during a renovation and coordinate with your GC.

Manual D layout

We design new ductwork using ACCA Manual D, not eyeballing trunk sizes.

Aeroseal capable

For finished homes we partner with Aeroseal applicators to seal from inside the system.

Room-by-room balancing

Every commissioning includes airflow measurement at each register.

Renovation coordination

We can rough in during framing and finish at trim — your GC will love us.

Job specs

What's included, what's not, and what it'll cost.

  • Pre-work pressure test and airflow measurement
  • Mastic sealing of accessible joints
  • Replacement of failing flex runs with rigid metal
  • New supply or return drops as required
  • Damper installation for room balancing
  • Post-work verification report

Not included

  • Drywall reconstruction (rough-cut access only — finishing trade follows)

Pricing

Targeted ductwork balancing and sealing usually runs $1,200 – $2,800. Full re-runs during a renovation are scoped per project — typically $5,000 – $14,000 depending on the size of the home and access.

Process

Four steps. Same four every job.

  1. Step 1

    1. Inspection

Pressure test, register-by-register airflow read, return audit.

  2. Step 2

    2. Plan

Targeted seal, partial replacement, full Manual D redesign — we'll quote what's actually needed, not the maximum.

  3. Step 3

    3. Work

Mostly basement work, sometimes drop ceilings or chases. Drop sheets and dust-control go up first.

  4. Step 4

    4. Verify

Re-measure airflow at every register and seal any leftover leaks. You get a balanced-airflow report.

Common questions

Five-minute answers to the questions we get most.

Almost always a duct problem — return-starved, undersized supply, or imbalanced damper. We can usually fix it in a day for under $2,000.
Often yes. We'll cut surgically when needed and patch rough. Aeroseal can also help in finished homes without any access at all.
