Cold-climate heat pumps work in Toronto. We've installed dozens that hold setpoint at -18 °C without auxiliary heat. We size with a real heat-loss calc, pair with the furnace as a hybrid system when that's the better economics, and only recommend full electrification when the envelope and electrical service support it. We'll be honest about which case yours is.
Cold-climate spec
Rated 100% capacity at -15 °C, 75%+ at -25 °C on the units we install most.
Hybrid or all-electric
Most Toronto homes are happiest in hybrid mode for the first winter, then we re-evaluate.
Greener Homes & HER+
We complete the paperwork. We don't take a finder's fee on rebates.
Quiet outdoor unit
Variable compressor + acoustic shrouds keep neighbours from noticing.
Four steps. Same four every job.
Step 1
1. Energy audit
We'll cross-reference an EnerGuide audit if you have one, or recommend one before sizing.
Step 2
2. Sizing & rebate paperwork
Heat-loss calc, ductwork capacity check, rebate application drafted.
Step 3
3. Install
Outdoor unit on a vibration-isolated pad, refrigerant lines pressure tested, indoor coil tied to existing furnace or air handler.
Step 4
4. Hybrid setpoint tuning
We set the changeover temperature based on your actual gas/hydro rates and your comfort, then revisit it after the first cold snap.
